Pinatas
A piņata consists of a papier-mache or cardboard decorated animal, character or shape, which is filled with goodies of your choice (usually sweets, toys or balloons). The piņata is suspended by a rope. The children then take turns to try to hit the piņata and break it open with a stick, whilst blindfolded. Children can be spun around first to make it harder, and it should be decided beforehand whether each child will get one, two or three tries. Once the piņata has been broken open, the contents will be released and everyone dashes to gather as many goodies as they can. It is a good idea to give the children paper cups or some other container into which they can put the goodies they manage to gather, particularly if sweets are used
